Rotate Files 1.2.2

An Automator Action to limit the number of sequentially numbered files generated by the Rename Files Action.

About Rotate Files
Designed to work with the Rename Finder Items Action; in particular it works with files generated by the Make Sequential option. This option adds a sequence number to the files it receives, but it does not impose any upper limit to the number of files in the sequence; this may be useful in various situations, for example when creating a workflow for generating backup files, but with an upper limit to the number of backups preserved.

Here enters Rotate Files: with this action you can set the max number of files belonging to a certain sequence, older ones will be just moved to the trash.
Moreover you can set the sequence start value and also the sequence step value if needed and you can force removed files to be immediately deleted instead of being placed in the trash.

Merge Folders 1.1

This automator application uses the power of the Unix command “ditto” to merge several folders the way merge works on Microsoft Windows.

About Merge Folders
This automator application uses the power of the Unix command “ditto” to merge several folders the way merge works on Microsoft Windows. I know there is a lot of people asking for a way of doing this natively in MacOS X through Finder. And no, currently, as of 10.5.7 (Leopard), Finder does not have this option (and I am not sure think Apple intends to include it in a near future). So I’ve decided to create an automator little application that is able to perform this task for you.

Combine PDFs 1.1.1

A pain free way to put two PDFs together.

About Combine PDFs
Sure it’s simple, lightweight, and anybody could put it together, but after reading in MacWorld that somebody asked about how to do it I realized that there are a lot of people out there who aren’t willing to give Automator a shot, or are a little wary of the program.

To that end, this script is a good starting point for those people. Open it in Automator, play around with it, save a new version, or just use it as it was intended and how I use it: to combine PDF files.

Add them to the order that you want them combined in, choose your compression, and you’ll find a brand new PDF file on your desktop in no time.

An Automator action to flatten every movie Quicktime is able to open. It does so by invoking the Quicktime.framework. Without opening Quicktime, the advantage is that no Quicktime window floats around, which can obstruct your desktop.

The use is straightforward. You need at least a Get Specified Finder Items, select the movies you like to flatten. Plug the Flatten Movie action after it, choose the destination. I click Play. There is really no need for supplementary application on Mac to accomplish trivial tasks.
