Education

We don't do anything halfway.

Technology alone won’t transform your institution. To inspire students, educators have to integrate that technology into learning.

Let Apple Professional Development teach you.

With Apple, educators already have a huge head start because everything is so simple to use. But we go much further to make sure faculty have all the skills, ideas, and best practices they need to reinvent the way they teach.

Former educators, Apple Professional Development team members will lead a range of workshops at your institution, each one customized to meet the specific needs of your faculty.

We’ve done our homework.

For decades, Apple has been a key presence at national education forums and conferences. Apple Education team members have served on government advisory boards. We work closely with more than a thousand Apple Distinguished Educators who are constantly refining the use of technology in the classroom. Their insights and proven teaching strategies are incorporated into all of our Professional Development sessions.

We’ve also aligned our workshops with ISTE National Educational Technology Standards and National Staff Development Council guidelines.

Apple Workshops

Digital Literacy Workshops.

This family of workshops is for educators who are bringing technology to the classroom for the first time. They learn how to create content with applications such as iLife, iWork, Aperture, Final Cut Pro, and Microsoft Office. Educators find out how to use Mac OS X to get students collaborating in new ways. And they learn how to work media assignments into their curricula.

Technology-Infused Learning Workshops.

Once educators have the basics down, this set of workshops can help them fully integrate technology into their classes. Topics include promoting collaboration through wikis, blogs, and chatting; managing digital storytelling projects from start to finish; and using iPod touch and mobile applications to get students studying more often, in more places than ever.

Leadership Workshops.

These sessions help school and district leaders explore the full potential of technology for K-12 institutions. You can choose to spend several days shaping your vision and developing an initial plan of action. Plotting out the support your faculty will need to introduce technology across the curriculum. Or exploring how to manage change, monitor your technology strategy, and evaluate teacher and student progress.

Faculty Development Workshops.

Covering everything from conducting digital research to rethinking the traditional lecture to creating a digital syllabus, this range of workshops helps college and university professors meet student expectations for technology in their courses. They can also explore ways to use podcasts, wikis, blogs, and more in their specific disciplines.

Digital Campus Institute.

After a three-day, hands-on immersion course, faculty will be ready to take full advantage of Apple technology on campus. They gain experience creating digital content for their own courses. They know the best options for managing and distributing that content. And they’re prepared to work with web-based tools for group projects.
