The best way to experience the web, email, photos, and video.

All of the built-in apps on iPad were designed from the ground up to take advantage of the large Multi-Touch screen. So you can flick, tap, and pinch your way through the school day.

Mail

See and touch your email in ways you never could before. In landscape, you get a split-screen view showing both an opened email and the messages in your inbox. To see the opened email by itself, turn iPad to portrait, and the email automatically rotates and fills the screen. No matter which way you hold iPad, you can scroll through your email, compose a new message using the large onscreen keyboard, or delete messages with nothing more than a tap and a flick.

Safari

Doing research on the web has never been easier or more intuitive.
That’s because the Multi-Touch screen lets you use the most natural pointing device there is: your finger. Scroll through a page just by flicking up or down. Or pinch to zoom in or out on a photo. And the large screen makes sharing information with your students — or among themselves — a no-brainer.

FaceTime

FaceTime lets you make video calls from your iPad 2 to someone else’s iPad 2, new iPod touch, iPhone 4 or Mac over Wi-Fi.3 On the big iPad display, it’s even more like you’re there in person. With just a tap, you can meet with students when you're away from the classroom and collaborate with educators across the globe.

Calendar

iPad makes it easy to stay on schedule by displaying day, week, month, or list views of your calendar. You can see an overview of a whole month or the details of a single day. iPad even shows multiple calendars at once, so you can manage work, personal, and student schedules at the same time.

Notes

With its expansive display and large, onscreen keyboard, iPad is perfect for taking notes in class. In landscape view, you see not only a note-taking page but a list of all your notes. iPad even circles the current note in red, so you can see where you are at a glance.

Maps

Experiencing the world, both near and far, is a completely new experience on iPad. Tap to view maps from above with high-resolution satellite imagery, up close with street view, or with topography in terrain view — all using Google Services. You can even search for nearby locations and landmarks, then get directions from your current location.

The learning landscape just got even bigger.

With built-in features like video mirroring and AirPrint, one iPad can teach an entire classroom.

Video Mirroring

With Video mirroring and the Apple Digital AV Adapter (sold separately), your HDTV or HD projection screen becomes a bigger version of your iPad. Students can see the iPad display and every tap, swipe and flick of your finger — even when you rotate from portrait to landscape. Video mirroring makes it possible to teach using educational iPad apps, movies, videos and more.

AirPrint.
Print everything wirelessly.

With just a few taps, you can print your reports, documents, email and photos right from your iPad to AirPrint-enabled printers over Wi-Fi.2 There’s no software to download, no drivers to install and no cables to connect.

iPad for all.

iPad comes with a screen reader, support for playback of closed-captioned content, and other innovative universal access features — right out of the box. There’s no additional software to buy or install. These features make iPad easier to use for students who have a vision impairment, are deaf or hard of hearing, or have a physical or learning disability.
