What you need to know when buying iPhone.

Before You Arrive

  • Upgrade your existing iPhone to the latest iOS release. Just connect your iPhone to your Mac or PC and follow the onscreen instructions in iTunes.
  • Back up the data on your existing iPhone to iCloud or your computer. For instructions on how to back up your iPhone, read this Support page.
  • Create a new Apple ID if you don’t already have one by visiting the Apple ID page.

What to Bring with You

  • Your old mobile phone, if you’re replacing it.
  • Social Security number of the account holder.
  • Valid government-issued photo ID.
  • Carrier account password, if you have one.
  • Your Apple ID and password.

iPhone Warranty

iPhone comes with 90 days of complimentary telephone technical support. In addition, your iPhone, its rechargeable battery, and all included accessories are covered against defects for a full year from the purchase date by a limited hardware warranty.

AppleCare+ for iPhone

AppleCare+ for iPhone extends your coverage to two years from the original purchase date of your iPhone and adds up to two incidents of accidental damage coverage, each subject to a $49 service fee. With AppleCare+ for iPhone, Apple experts can help troubleshoot issues over the phone or at an Apple Retail Store.2 They’ll answer questions about iOS, Apple iPhone apps such as Mail, iMessage, and Calendar, and help you solve interconnectivity issues between your iPhone and Mac or PC. And if your iPhone needs service under the plan, Apple technical support representatives can even set up a repair during the same call. AppleCare+ for iPhone is just $99.3

Return Policy

If you are not fully satisfied with your iPhone purchase, you can return your undamaged iPhone within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. Learn more about iPhone sales policies.
